Journey with Yabu Band

About Yabu Band
Yabu Band are an Indigenous Australian rock, roots band formed in the mid-1990s in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. The word yabu is Wongutha – a western desert tribal language – for 'rock' or 'gold.'
Core members of Yabu Band are brothers Delson (vocals) and Boyd Stokes (guitar and vocals). When performing live they are joined by a collection of some of Western Australia's best performing musicians.
Yabu Band are four time WAMI (West Australia Music Industry) award winners. They won a Deadly award in 2009 for Most Promising New Talent in Music. Delson Stokes Jr was the 1999 NAIDOC Male Youth of the Year, while Boyd Stokes won Guitarist of the Year at the Too Solid Music Awards in 2009.
Yabu Band will release their long awaited new EP A Cry in the Wind in early 2021. The first single, of the same name, was released on November 6, 2020 as the first taste of an exciting new chapter for one of WA's most loved Indigenous acts. It is available now on Spotify, bandcamp, YouTube and Apple Music.
Yabu Band will release their new single Peacemaker on January 26, 2021. It is available for pre-order now on all major platforms.
